Why does my Mom not care about my child?
here’s the story. I had a child 11 yrs ago . wasn’t necessarily planned but we got over that .She learned to love him alot. 5 yrs later, I got married and i struggled with Secondary infertility and ended up doing IVF. Biggest mistake i ever made was telling her i was pregnant due to IVF. She has only seen my baby 1 time in 1 year and to add, she also has another granddaughter who is 2 ,who she keeps all day for my sister. What is the problem? I am very confused.Why does she not like my baby? I am ttc #3 and i don’t plan on telling the family this time

Aww, I think she may feel that the Invitro procedure goes against her beliefs??? It’s very hurtful to feel such a distant from your mom towards your child. It’s so wrong to give that off to the baby.
Sit down with her and ask her how she feels about Invitro. Tell her that even though your baby was conceived with Invitro, it is still a precious babe and it’s her grandchild.
I truly think it’s her issues with Invitro.

Some moms are not maternal, my mom yeppers, will hold her grandbaby but never enquire, stay long, nadda, she compensates her love by buying her things, diapers and such, I’m sorry but it is what it is, just know you won’t be that mom to your child, it is quite comforting, atleast that’s what I do, like that indigo girls song, “Ia asked my father for a dollar and he gave it a ten dollar raise, and when I was sick and called my mother she stayed with me for days” Big hugs
maybe she doesnt believe in the method. i know that some people who dont believe in the method. dont like the idea of having to love a child concieved by it.
