Did I have a miscarriage? It’s kind of long, but PLEASE HELP?
I’ve been on the pill for almost 2 years now because of heavy periods. It’s worked for me and I’ve never had problems with it, even though I will occasionally miss a pill here and there, it has no effect on my period. However, because I sometimes miss a pill, it doesn’t work for preventing pregnancy. Since the age of 11, I have never missed a period in my LIFE and I always spot too.
My boyfriend and I used a condom when we had sex. We used lubricant on it, which I now realize was a mistake, because that weakens the effect of the condom. I hadn’t had my period since we’d had sex. A few weeks after the last time we did it, he broke up with me. I still was not getting my period. After 2 weeks, I started getting a little bit worried. I told myself it was just stress, but my friend urged me to take a test anyway, so she brought one over to me. When I got the results, the sign was really light and hard to see. My friend and I assumed that it was probably just a negative because we didn’t think that I was. A week later, still no period. Not even spotting. During the 3rd week, I started getting cramps like I was going to have my period, but they would stop suddenly and nothing would happen. I started hating certain foods that I used to love and started hardly eating anything. A girl I know (who got pregnant at my age) said that her pregnancy test read the same thing that mine did and that she was going through my exact situation with her first child. She said to check to see if I was tight, and I went to check, and I was! That scared the sh*t out of me so I finally went to planned parenthood to get tested, after almost 2 months of not having my period. The planned parenthood woman called me in and said it didn’t look like I was pregnant. I asked her, “then where did my period go?” She said because I’m a teenager, the period is probably just inconsistent due to hormones, but in all 6 years I’ve had it, this has NEVER happened, and I’ve been on birth control for 2 years so I know that’s not what was causing it. A DAY after I came back from planned parenthood, I started feeling really sick and nauseous. I started to hemorrhage out of control like I never had before. I had this horrible feeling almost like cramps except 10 times worse in my lower stomach along with a churning feeling. This is way beyond when I’m supposed to have my normal period, I shouldn’t be having it now. As suddenly as the hemorrhaging came, it stopped out of nowhere. I was only bleeding that badly for an hour before it went back to a normal period, but the cramps were UNBEARABLE, like I’d gotten punched in the stomach.
The twist to this is that I was not aware that I could have been pregnant and I’ve been bulimic for 3+ years. So, I was throwing up my food, starving myself, and overworking my body while this was all going on, and because I didn’t know if I was pregnant, I didn’t think I would be hurting whatever was in me.
Do you think I could have had a miscarriage? What’s going on?
I’ve been through a lot in my life. Stress and bulimia have never gotten as bad as to make me miss my periods, and I’ve had them for a LONG TIME.

You may have but it could just be your period is messed up it happens sometimes when you are stressed. you should maybe go to your family dr. and see what they have to say about your pd. or an o.b. that is more experienced. and you also need to seek counseling for your bulimia its very dangerous.
I hate to say this but you could have. When i got pregnant, I had cramps and light spotting for a couple days but they went away. Your symptoms sounds really extreme…you NEED to call a doctor and tell him everything.
If you are going to have sex and have the possibility of getting pregnant you also need to work out your bulimia. You wont be able to have kids if you keep that up. If you dont like your body now, how are you going to feel watching your stomach grow and grow? You should not be having kids till you work out your body issues. Im sorry this is harsh but if you are pregnant, this is including a child that deserves to live in a healthy mother. you are not a healthy mother, no matter how skinny your are, you cannot support a child inside you if you are not eating and keeping it down.
please call a doctor and find out for sure. and make sure you stay on the pill! I understand body issues, trust me, but i also have a child. If you are pregnant, please get help with your bulimia.
The cause of your missed periods is most likely the bulimia. I’ve battled it for years myself. I don’t know about the sudden heavy bleeding. I would suggest finding a good doctor that has knowledge of eating disorders. They can help treat the physical problems, and will probably be able to help you find treatment for the emotional ones. Bulimia is SO much more than an issue with food and weight. I struggle with it daily, and have been hospitalized. I understand that just stopping is not possible. You really need to get some help and support.
