Does anyone know the fertility percentages of a women who has had pelvic trauma?
I’m 27 and have suffered with severe hemmoragic ovarian cysts for several years. I have had 5 known ruptures, 4 surgeries and 3 cysts removed (the largest was grapefruit size). I have about 1/4 of my right ovary remaining and my left has currently 4 cysts. I know that both of my ovaries have had severe damage from ruptures and surgery, so…does anyone know what the possibility would be of my having children naturally? Basically what I am asking is..how much damage can your ovaries take and still be functional?

While I can’t tell you what your chances are my aunt had one ovary removed because of cysts at 16, and the other had 2 or more cysts at that time. She went on to have 4 pregnancies (3 children, 1 miscarriage) without too much trouble.
My mother also has a leaking cyst and she had 4 pregnancies(3 children, one abortion), including one after a tubal.
So it is possible. The key questions are 1) Are you ovulating. Consider using a saliva test just to check and 2) Is the egg making it to your uterus. There is a test where they inject dye into your uterus and then x-ray or ultrasound to see if the dye makes it into your tubes and all the way to the ovaries. I don’t think that would help in your case when it is more of a question of the cysts blocking the eggs, but maybe there is something similar.
Best of luck
I’m not sure about your chances but
I can give you some hope. I had one ovary completely removed from hemorrhagic cysts. During the time of that surgery I had a tumor removed from my right fallopian tube and they found many small cysts on my right ovary. That was 4 years ago. I now have a 3 year old son and am currently 27 weeks pregnant with my daughter. So all I can say is don’t give up it is possible
You might have to consider an egg donor. Maybe you could carry a child to term but your ovaries may not be capable of producing eggs.
Your Dr or a fertility specialist would be best to answer the question…you can have a blood test on the 21st day of your cycle to see if you ovulated. Or you can take clomid to make you ovulate…If your ovaries aren’t too damaged.
