What is it like to go through IVF…ending a successful pregnancy?
What is it like to experience IVf? Is it a painful procedure? How soon after the procedure do you have a positive pregnancy test?

I have just finished my first ivf and had negative result but that doesn’t mean that you cant get it first shot.
There is no way to say as there is no set time and it works differently for everyone.
I didn’t find it that painful it was me worrying that was the most painful lol.
First needle was hard as i had to inject myself (my partner was a wuss he worried he faint) but it didn’t hurt, it was like a mosquito bite.
Unfortunately some people never get pregnant even with ivf.
Best of luck.

I had this experience on May and now I am 19 weeks pregnant. Well, you do ti like this:
From the 2nd day of your period you have to inject yourself, or have someone else do it to you, with hormones for ten days. I used Gonal-F. On the 12th day of the cycle the doctor takes the ovaries and the sperm and makes the fertilization. 48 hours later the embryos are placed in you. On the 28th day of the period, two weeks after the placement of the embryos you can have the test.
Good luck to you.
It’s not painful at all. The egg retrieval your out for and it only takes 15-30 minutes to do. When you’re body is ready for the embryos transfer it’s the same as getting a catheter put in..actually not even that bad if you want to call that bad. They slip the tube into place and inject (so to speak) the embryos in..usually you can watch it on a monitor and they can show you the embies flowing through. I had to wait 9 days for each of mine. Our 1st try was successful with twins, the 2nd time I did it was neg but embryos were very low grade that time.
i had icsi treatment in march and I’m now 26 w 2 days pregnant,it was stressful but that was about the worst of it the daily injections can get abit tedious, and having the eggs removed under sedation wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be,the only pain full part was the two week wait to do my test, which i have to say i didn’t believe until i had a blood test to confirm it.
The needles aren’t too bad, and I had egg retrieval done under anaesthetic so that was fine. I was very uncomfortable towards the end of stims and I’ve been very sore in the days since retrieval. At my clinic they do a blood test 16 days after retrieval. As for whether or not it’s positive, nobody can tell you that, or how many cycles it’ll take to get one, or if you even will. IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Indian Med Guru Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Indian Med Guru Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

I am 36 weeks along after going through a sucessful first round of IVF. For me I found that the process became all consuming. It was hard not to be obsessed. Every day there was something to inject or medication to take (thankfully my doctor’s office made me a calendar of what I was supposed to be taking each day). I was sore during the stimulation and after retreival, but I also had “overacheiving ovaries” (or at least that is how one of the nurses described it. I had a lot of follicles and was a little bit hyperstimulated). The part I disliked the most was the progesterone shot, but some places let you take it orally or as a suppository. I was impatient and started doing hpts four or five days after the implant and got a faint faint positive, which they confirmed on day 10. Any discomfort I felt is so worth it now, and I know how lucky I am that it worked the first time.
