is it safe to continue to diet while pregnant?
I am currently doing the LA weightloss program, and I have had a lot of success from it, however, I was wondering if anyone else had dieted to lose weight while pregnant. This diet involves eating healthy foods 6-8 times a day. You have to have a certain amount of servings of each food group a day. My question is, Is it safe to lose weight by dieting healthfully as long as the baby is still growing and healthy?

well, it’s good that they make you eat healthy, but you’re eating for 2, remember, so maybe eat more than usual.
your gonna get fat regardless, so why diet.
NO. only diet if your DR tells you to….otherwise….eat!
& loose the weight after the baby comes.
I don’t know but if you have found a healthy eating plan congrats to you la weight loss has a lot of support geoups and I’m sure someone can tell you what they think about continuing the plan during you’re pregnancy if not I’m sure you will be able to lose the weight after baby with the same diet good luck and congrats to you!!
Asking your OB is all ways best.
But i do know of the LA Diet. i wonder if it is the same one my doctor showed me.
if it is the same one there is nothing wrong with it at all. In fact it is more healthy then most people eat. It has the pyramid of foods. It is not low or high sodium. i really se nothing wrong with it.
I would as a Doula tell no woman to diet while pregnant unless the doctor told them to for health. But i see nothing wrong with the LA diet.
I wouldn’t diet as much as I would just eat healthier. A pregnant woman needs so many calories a day to safely nurture the baby growing inside of her, as well as herself. There is no reason to diet while you are pregnant, because you will gain weight anyway. However, it is healthy to lay off sodium/salt filled foods and eat minimal amounts of sugar. As long as your calorie intake is there, and you are eating 4 correctly portioned meals a day with 2-3 snacks in between, you will be fine. Talk to your doctor about the best way to gain as little weight as possible, while eating healthy enough for the two of you. Remember-it isn’t about you anymore.
please no, never intentionally try to loose weight while pregnant. maintain a healthy eating pattern but dieting during pregnancy can be dangerous. you need plent of folic acid, calcium and vitamin C. you need extra “good” calories for the baby. your doctor can advise you on this. please go see a nutritionist too. most of the pregnancy weight that you gain is baby, water, blood volume, breast size- not fat. I gained 25lbs during my recent pregnancy. i have lost all of it and another 10lbs. wait til after your baby is here to worry about weight loss
STAY AWAY FROM DIETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will want that icecream and pickles anyways. enjoy this time. and remember that the baby doesnt want to diet they like to be fat and you have to gain at least 20 plus pounds anyways
